AppNexus provides hosted scalability to Mooter adVantage

The Board of Mooter Media Limited (ASX: MMZ) today announced that it had entered into a Master Hosting Agreement with AppNexus Inc., a New York based provider of hosting and related infrastructure services. This agreement effectively upgrades Mooter’s previous hosted capability, enabling the Company to provide superior scalability and reliability to its web service clients, worldwide.
The CEO of AppNexus is Brian O’Kelley, with whom Mooter has signed a Strategic Services Agreement to provide advice and consulting services, and who was previously a founder and Chief Technology Officer of Right Media Inc, a US based online advertising company (www.rightmedia.com) subsequently sold to Yahoo!.
In addition to other assistance to the Company, Brian provided technical and strategic advice on the “Scale Project”, which commenced in September 2007. The Scale Project was focused on ensuring that the commercial deployment of the Mooter adVantage™ platform in high traffic, economically attractive markets was fully supported by the underlying platform, with capacity scalability as required.
The execution of this Hosting Agreement with AppNexus provides the underpinning ‘hardware’ capability to that Scale Project, which now enables Mooter Media to:
- operate its business securely and reliably, worldwide,
- scale its computing usage as needs arise,
- use geographically disparate data centres to route requests in close proximity to users,
- use load balancing services to efficiently manage load and redundancy, and
- reduce the unit cost of ad serving and associated services considerably.

Mr Wilks added “I am also particularly pleased that Brian, who became a sizeable Mooter Media shareholder by taking shares in lieu of cash fees for his valuable work to date, has indicated that he intends to take up his pro-rata entitlement under the recently announced Rights Issue, and has also expressed a desire to participate by way of a placement of additional shares, if there is any shortfall from that Offer.”
